How long does it take?

The time it takes to get your website done depends on you. The things that normally “hold up” a website is content, what the site says, pictures from the client and domain transfers. I will ask for these items in the beginning or will ask that you get them ready.

Depending on the size of the site the process could take 3 days to 6 weeks.

What types of marketing does Lighthouse do?

There are different types of online marketing that we can use to market your business.
E-Mail marketing is sending a custom e mail to a list of people. This permission based list might have been created by collecting addresses from your site or from networking events that you attend. We can customize a campaign for you to market your products or services.

Search Engine Marketing is often the CPC (Cost per Click) option on search engines. Google calls this Google AdWords. Together we come up with your ideal list of carewords (keywords), a budget, a goal, and most importantly a way of tracking our progress for your company and implement the campaign.
Online marketing is the placement of buttons, banners, text ads on other sites that would have visitors that would be interested in your product of service.

Social Media Marketing we recommend that you maintain your own Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or other Social Media profile simply because people want to get to know the people behind the company. They want to hear from you not some marketer. We will however set it up for you, set up CPC ads that will either go to your page or build up your fan base or followers.

How much will a new website cost?

This will depend on your needs. Each site is designed specific to each client’s business.

Example: A 3 page site (Home, Services, Contact) that includes a basic contact form that is emailed to you. Coded for search engines, analytics installed, privacy policy/terms of use, Graphics, buttons are included but we can also include your pictures and up to 5 stock photos if needed. A site that meets these criteria is $750.00.

Many clients start with this type of base site and then add additional features to their site as needed. We offer many different features specific to your company’s specific needs.

Are there monthly fees?

No. I do not charge you a fee unless you ask me to work on your site. However, if your company requires set tasks that are done on a consistent basis. If this is the case, we come up with a maintenance plan specific to their needs.

What should I expect?

The best way to explain this is to describe the typical scenario.

First meeting

We meet, usually face – to – face, we review your needs and goals for the website. If at all possible I try to give you a quote during our first visit. If so, I put together the contract, site specification and we put together your care-words (keywords) listings. I also get any and all graphics, images and content that you would like to include on your site.

Design Work

I take the images, graphics and content and put together a “mock up” design. This is an image of what your site could look like. I will send 1 – 3 different looks for you to review. We tear them apart picking and choosing the elements that you like, colors, layout etc.

Coding

Once you have a look that you are happy with I go to work building the site, creating the pages and placing your content on the pages. During this time I will send you links with updated information for you to review as I go. If I am missing content or there is an area that I feel content is needed for effectiveness I will place filler text this is usually in Latin.

During the coding phase I will keep the site on my host. Once you approve the site and pay the final payment, I upload the site to your hosting account, set up analytics, meta tags and register the site with Google, yahoo, bing and others.

We then implement online marketing to help drive traffic to your new website.
